Michelin star helps St Basil’s initiative

Top chef backs homeless charity.

Michelin starred Adam Stokes has donated a recipe in support of Tomato & St Basils Soup Week which will take place from 20-26th March 2016.

During this week members of the public are encouraged to make Tomato & Basil soup and sell it to raise funds for St Basils, the charity that works across the West Midlands with homeless young people and those at risk.

To give friends and colleagues a ‘souper’ treat, participants are encouraged to have a go at making Adam’s clear Chilled Cherry Tomato and Red Basil Essence soup recipe as served in the Michelin starred restaurant to see if they can re-create it.

St Basils provides advice and support services to over 4000 young people a year who are vulnerable or at risk, housing over 1000 a year. The charity also engages with young residents to support them into further education, training or employment. However the charity receives no government funding for its Learning, Skills and Work service and this is where donations from the public are particularly vital, ensuring that young people can gain the skills and confidence they need to truly move on with their lives.

Adam Stokes said: “This is a clever but easy recipe for a soup that has stacks of flavour – if you have the right tomatoes! It makes an amazing soup for the spring/summer.

“We’re happy to support St Basils as a local charity doing great work to help homeless young people in Birmingham and beyond”.
