Major refit sees transformation of city centre store

Further boost for retail sector.

Well-known Birmingham high end electrical appliance store Black is set to reopen its doors after a major refit.

Operated by Dixons Carphone, Black is a three-floor concept store in the city centre which combines Currys, PC World and Carphone Warehouse all under one roof.

Aimed at gadget enthusiasts, Black stocks brands with an emphasis on performance and design and offers customers some of the most sought after gadgets around, including the latest electronics, computers and TVs.

Located on High Street, Black will unveil its brand new look to the public this Friday 19th February at 10am. As well as being the first to see the new products and exclusive deals on offer, customers visiting the store that day will have the chance to win a range of prizes and will be treated to a goody bag featuring products from leading electrical brands, Samsung and Microsoft.

In addition to the relocation of Carphone Warehouse to the very front of the store, the redesigned Black store will feature a brand new collection of products, including a Nespresso coffee bar and a Dyson section complete with a dedicated Dyson expert. The store will also sell a variety of top-of-the-range home and kitchen appliances, as well as mobile phone deals from Carphone Warehouse.

GT Chand, store manager at Black, said: “Shopping should be an experience and our new store will give customers the chance to get up close with the latest products before purchasing. The refit has also enabled us to demonstrate our partnership with a leading mobile phone brand further and having Carphone Warehouse visible at the front of the store will give customers quick access to key deals on offer.”

Steve Hewlett, Retail BID Manager added: “Birmingham’s retail scene continues to thrive and this latest investment from Dixons Carphone in their High Street store is fabulous news for the city centre.”
