Charity’s Christmas market opens

Employment and skills charity opens ReUsers Christmas Emporium.

The Jericho Foundation, which helps individuals back into employment through training and work experience, are delighted to open their ReUsers Christmas Emporium for the third year running.

The Yuletide store, on the second floor of The ReUsers Centre at Sutton, sells a wide range of recycled Christmas decorations, ornaments, gifts and trees.

In addition, this year, there are also a selection of handmade festive gifts which have been crafted at the Jericho Wood Shack by the staff, volunteers and apprentices.

Richard Beard, Chief Executive, commented, “We are delighted to welcome in this special season with our annual outlet. We always enjoy welcoming members of the local community to absorb the Christmas atmosphere while purchasing our rescued and restored festive bargains”.

The ReUsers is a social enterprise set up by The Jericho Foundation in a stunning Victoria property adjacent to the Household Recycling Centre in Norris Way, Sutton Coldfield. It sells a wide variety of items that are donated, including furniture, clothing, antiques, bric-a-brac, art, toys, exercise equipment, leisure equipment and bicycles – saving tonnes of reusable goods from landfill or incineration.

The Jericho Foundation changes lives through enterprise. The Foundation seeks out and engages people who have experienced significant barriers to being fulfilled, skilled and employed.

To help them, the Foundation provides real work experience in one of its social enterprise businesses, combined with an individually-tailored package of personal development support for each client. The range of social enterprises provides safe learning environments while operating as commercial initiatives. Moreover, through these enterprises the Foundation offers a wide range of products and services to serve the local community.
