Classic rocking Robin

There’s some vintage names coming up at the Robin.

Original British invaders The Pretty Things return to the Robin on Friday 16th October. Wilder than the Stones and louder than the Who, the band’s blues-tinged rock blazed trails, created the first rock opera in SF Sorrow and in the words of Jack White are still “The most exciting rock ‘n’ roll band of the last fifty years who are still on the road today”.

Andy Fairweather Low first came to prominence with Amen Corner and since then has gone on to international stardom working with many of the top names in music (a stint as Roger Waters’ musical director being one of his latest collaborations) as well as with his band the Low Riders, with whom he returns to the Robin on Sunday 8th October.

Following Daevid Allen’s death earlier this year it became clear that he wanted hs band Gong to continue. The prog originators have recently announced a UK tour which includes an night at the Robin on Tuesday 20th October. Support is from fellow long-running prog rockers Here & Now.
