Institute to host first student Biomedical Science Careers Expo at ICC.

The Institute of Biomedical Science, the professional body for biomedical scientists in the United Kingdom, are to host the first ever IBMS student employability event at the International Conference Centre.

The free student employability event will take place on the 28th of September from 2-5.30pmand will be open to bioscience students from across the UK. The Biomedical Science Careers Expo will provide a strong focus on employability and practical advice.

A speaker programme will cover a wide range of careers and offer advice to students on how to get ahead in their chosen career. The Careers Expo will also feature a CV Clinic, advising student on getting the best from their CV and making an impact with potential employers.

All students attending the Careers Expo can also visit the IBMS Congress Exhibition where you can explore the latest advances in diagnostic technology and network with representatives from across the biomedical science industry.

Encouraging local university students to attend the Expo, IBMS Deputy Chief Executive, Sarah May CSci FIBMS, said: “The IBMS has worked with bioscience students over the past year to ensure the Biomedical Science Careers Expo is tailored students’ needs. With the input of students, university tutors and experts from within the profession, the Biomedical Science Careers Expo will offer tailored advice on how to get a head start in a range of careers in bioscience.”.
