Challenge at the Fort

Raising funds for Midlands Air Ambulance.

Staff at The Fort Shopping Park will be taking the plunge as they complete a bathtub challenge in aid of charity partner Midlands Air Ambulance Charity on Saturday July 25.

With help from bathroom specialists, Bathroom City, faces from the Fort including centre manager Marjan Horne will be sitting back – but perhaps not relaxing – as they take part in a sponsored bath sit-in.

The Fort not only needs the public’s help with sponsors and donations but, also to decide what the bath should be filled with. A vote will be conducted via The Fort’s social media channels offering gunge-tastic options such as baked beans, custard and rice pudding.

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and The Fort Shopping Park have been raising funds together for the past 12 month through on-site events and in store activities. Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is the largest air ambulance operating region in the UK however, the charity receive no government or National Lottery funding. Instead, in excess of £6.5 million is needed each year to keep its three air ambulances operational; which is donated entirely by the public and local businesses.

Marjan Horne says, “Midlands Air Ambulance is a charity very close to our hearts and we are passionate about raising important and much needed funds. The bathtub challenge is a way to remind people how much their donations for the charity are needed – and also a fun spectacle for those already shopping at the park”
