Festival of Imagineers launch, Coventry Transport Museum

Expect the unexpected with the Festival of Imagineers 2015.

That’s the message from organisers of the festival, which runs from 3rd–8th August, with the key highlights for the Festival announced in Coventry on 10th June. Amongst the highlights will be Polish street theatre company Teatr Biuro Podrozy, a chance to discover the mysteries of flight with Come Fly with Me, opportunities to visit the historic Slipper Baths and naturally, being in Coventry, Lady Godiva will be making an appearance.

The Festival of Imagineers 2015 will create a series of amazing, free experiences for people to watch, try for themselves, join in and take away.

Imagineer Productions is working in partnership with Culture Coventry to produce the second annual Festival of Imagineers which will offer the opportunity to see extraordinary spaces and inventions in the run up to the Festival as well as present a dynamic performance programme on 8th August alongside interactive exhibitions, workshops and activities.

Jane Hytch, Chief Executive Imagineer Productions said: “The Festival of Imagineers is a genuine collaboration between arts, engineering and technology bringing audiences something new and unexpected over one week in August in Coventry. We are delighted to be showcasing local and regional talent alongside award-winning international companies from both the cultural and engineering sector. We hope to create memorable moments as well as inspire people to get creative and inventive themselves.”

Gary Hall, Chief Executive of Culture Coventry, the trust that runs Coventry Transport Museum and the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum said: “We are very pleased to be supporting the Festival of Imagineers. This is just one of the ways in which Coventry’s arts and cultural organisations are working together to create inspiring experiences for local and regional audiences, as well as attracting tourists from around the UK and further afield.”

Events are free, for things you don’t normally see in Coventry but places are limited so booking is required. Full booking information will be announced shortly on www.imagineerproductions.co.uk or follow @GodivaAwakes
