New character swoops in to Cadbury World

Big Hoot helps boost Children’s Hospital.

Heads are set to turn at Cadbury World this summer, as the Cadbury characters get ready to unwrap a new feathered friend.

The new addition will join the likes of the Caramel Bunny and Freddo at the Bournville-based attraction as The Big Hoot swoops into Birmingham this summer. Presented by public art specialists, Wild in Art, in partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital, the charity initiative has brought together businesses, schools and community projects from across the city.

Cadbury World is proudly sponsoring the exciting project alongside a range of Birmingham businesses, which will see over 90 individually designed owl statues decorate the city as part of a visually stunning trail this summer. Standing at 165cm tall and designed by a number of talented local artists, the striking owls will be on display for ten weeks from Monday 20 July to Sunday 27 September, driving tourism and helping to showcase everything Birmingham has to offer.

At the end of the city’s biggest ever mass-participation public art event, the intricate owl statues will be auctioned off to help raise funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Whilst the newest addition to the Cadbury World family remains firmly under wraps for now, the owl will fit right in alongside the iconic Cadbury characters as it takes its perch at the attraction this summer.

Diane Mitchell, marketing manager at Cadbury World said: “We’re delighted to announce our support of The Big Hoot project, and believe it’s a fantastic way to celebrate the very best of Birmingham.

“Our characters are always popular with our visitors, so we have no doubt that this summer will be a hoot with the arrival of our owl.”

Charlie Langhorne, Director of Wild in Art, said: “We are delighted that Cadbury World has taken The Big Hoot under its wing in such an exciting way. It’ll be great to see their owl in cahoots with the famous Cadbury characters, but I’m sure it’ll feel right at home.”

Elinor Eustace, Deputy Director of Fundraising at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, added: “The Big Hoot will be a fantastic spectacle for Birmingham and will help to raise valuable funds for our hospital. We’re delighted to have Cadbury World involved. It is thanks to them and our other corporate partners that we will ultimately be able to fund some important projects for the children and young people at our hospital and for that we’re immensely grateful.”
