Open air theatre comes to Fort Dunlop

Performances herald beginning of summer events.

Residents of Birmingham can prepare for some al fresco entertainment this summer as Chapterhouse Theatre Company brings its open-air theatre tour to Fort Dunlop for the first time.

The esteemed theatre company will be performing three of its six shows on the rear lawns of this iconic site, transporting audiences to the faraway lands of The Jungle Book, the idyllic countryside of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice and a mystical Shakespearean Midsummer’s night.

Guests will be invited to sit back, relax and enjoy an evening of entertainment with a selection of street food and drink stalls, as well as an outdoor bar that will be serving up an array of refreshing summer cocktails.

During the Midsummer Night’s Dream and Jungle Book performances, there will be a roaming face painter, as well as a creative corner providing free jungle crafts and sing-a-long sessions of some of the classic songs during The Jungle Book. In addition, there will also be a Fine Cheese and Wine Tasting event with an experiential bar at the Midsummer Night’s Dream and Pride and Prejudice performances.

Tickets will cost £15.00 for adults and £10.00 for children. Family tickets (two adults and two children) can also be purchased for £45.00. Details of the events and tickets are now available at www.fortdunlop.com

These open-air theatre performances form part of an exciting new events calendar taking place at Fort Dunlop over the coming months, with a hot tub rooftop cinema, street food festivals and more to be announced.
