Boost for junior football team.
Birmingham-based building services specialist JS Wright has given a boost to junior-level football in Penkridge.
The mechanical services provider, which has its head office in Aston and offices in Bristol and central London, is to sponsor the new Under 7 and Under 8 small-sided teams at Penkridge Junior FC at the start of their first season in competition.
The Charter Standard Community Club, which has FA status for its top quality work, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
JS Wright, celebrating its own 125th anniversary in 2015, has given its enthusiastic support to the youngest teams at the club for Under 7s to Under 18s after learning that Penkridge is to benefit from a new 3rd Generation astro-turf pitch and aims to launch two adult teams next year. he company has donated £750 towards the funding for the small-sided teams, who train on Saturdays at Monkton Recreational Centre in Penkridge and play games at a neutral venue on Sundays.
John Felton, the club’s development manager, said: “We are delighted with JS Wright’s generous support. It will help secure the club’s future and encourage other companies to support our aim of developing more teams across more age levels as we look to grow with these exciting developments ahead.
“The club has been providing football for boys and girls aged from Under 8 to Under 18 over the years but it also plays a wider role in the community by teaching social skills and team building and promoting fitness. As a Community Charter Standard Club, all coaches and volunteers adhere to the FA’s strict standards and protocols and are reviewed each year.”
