Upmarket screen for redevelopment.
A brand-new cinema experience will soon be unveiled in the Midlands, as the Mailbox welcomes boutique cinema brand Everyman Cinemas as part of an exclusive collaboration.
Opening on Friday 27th February, Everyman Mailbox is set to become Birmingham’s most sought after cinema, offering a luxurious made-to-measure environment, delicious food and drink menu and a state-of-the-art sound and vision experience. Situated in the canal side area of the Mailbox, the 12,350 sq ft venue boasts three screens, showing both national releases and a regularly updated and curated themed film programme.
The arrival of Everyman Cinemas to Birmingham’s premier shopping and lifestyle destination comes as the Mailbox prepares to relaunch following a major transformation of the retail environment. Set to open this Spring, the revamped Mailbox will include a stunning sky-lit roof and new retail mall with sleek store frontages, alongside an exciting range of exclusive retailers, bars and restaurants.
Everyman’s trademark sofa seating can be found in each of the three screens, creating a superior level of comfort, with a private bar to service its largest screen.
The film programme boasts carefully chosen new releases alongside a curated film schedule and an array of exclusive live events, complementing other creative activity within the Mailbox calendar. The experience will be heightened by the quality of the projection powered by Sony 4K digital technology and Dolby integrated sound.
Crispin Lilly, CEO at Everyman Cinema, which also has venues in Leeds and across London, said: “We’re delighted to be able to bring the Everyman experience to Birmingham. The city has such a strong tradition in cinema yet we truly believe we offer a fabulous, new and unique way to see a film. We look forward to exceeding the expectations of our new customers here at the Mailbox.”
David Pardoe, retail manager at the Mailbox, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Everyman Cinemas to both the Mailbox and the Midlands, with the unique venue strengthening our status as Birmingham’s premier leisure and retail destination. We’re getting ready for an exciting few months as our redevelopment nears completion, and what better way to begin than with the opening of Everyman Cinemas.”
As the Mailbox gears up for its exciting re-launch this Spring, Harvey Nichols, Emporio Armani, Nicky Clarke, Toni & Guy and BBC Birmingham remain open, along with the bars, restaurants, hotels, commercial offices and car park. The Mailbox will also welcome new bar and restaurant, Gas Street Social, which is due to open in March.
