Mellow yellow

Banana, lemons and Donovan – it’s your big day.

A Birmingham-based national charity is appealing to businesses to help turn the region yellow on Friday March 6th.

Big Yellow Friday is the national fundraising day for Children’s Liver Disease Foundation, the UK’s leading charity dedicated to fighting liver disease in children. And up and down the country, workplaces, schools and community groups are organising yellow themed events in a bid to raise £100,000.

“From a simple Wear Something Yellow Day to 24 hour bikeathons and even sky dives, a whole range of events is being planned”, said CLDF’s Head of Fundraising, Joanna Oldfield. “Companies tell us they like the chance for their staff to have some fun while helping to raise funds which they know will make a real difference to a smaller, local charity.

“We have plenty of support and materials available for Midlands businesses who would like to join in so just give us a call!”

Amongst the companies taking part this year are RBS. Advice Mortgage Manager, Donna Wilkes, commented: “We support the event every year as we like to back local charities in Birmingham and it’s good to know how the money is being used.”
