Birmingham housing boom to continue

Demand for city centre apartments set to grow in 2015.

Housebuilder Crest Nicholson is predicting that there will be a surge in the number of people looking to get onto the Birmingham property ladder this year as demand for high quality new homes in the city centre continues to grow.

Over the Christmas period, the developer saw a record number of people visit Park Central to enquire about the apartments available. This follows a successful year at the development, where Crest Nicholson saw sales increase by 8% compared to 2013.

Amanda Gales, Sales Manager at Park Central, said: “Many of our visitors in the past couple of weeks have said that their New Year Resolution is to become a homeowner in 2015. Thanks to the increasing confidence in the local property market, as well as the newly reduced Stamp Duty costs, this doesn’t come as any surprise.

“Many of our apartments in 2014 were purchased by young professionals working in the city centre. As well as attracting people already living in Birmingham, the development has proven popular with people relocating from London, as well as international investors.

“The apartments at Park Central have continued to surpass sales expectations, proving popular with first time buyers, investors, downsizers and professionals looking for a second home in the city. The majority of our visitors over Christmas were parents looking to purchase a property for their children, in preparation of them starting at one of the local universities and graduates starting work placements in the city looking to use the ‘Bank of Mum and Dad’ to get their foot onto the property ladder.”

Located off Lee Bank Middleway, Crest Nicholson is down to its last 12 apartments in its latest phase, named Maddison Walk. Currently there is a mix of one and two bedroom properties available with prices starting from just £130,000.

All the apartments have been built with high quality fixtures and fittings, including designer kitchens and contemporary bathrooms and are covered by a 10 year NHBC warranty. Additionally, all of the properties are available to buy with a deposit of just five per cent, when purchased under the government’s Help to Buy scheme.

Park Central offers contemporary city centre accommodation surrounded by eight acres of landscaped parkland and is just a short walk from the many bars and restaurants at Brindleyplace and less than a 30 minute walk away from the business quarter. For those commuting to work, Five Ways train station is also only a five minute walk.
