Doubled capacity for city centre site.
Birmingham’s innovative city centre meeting and events space thestudio has completed a year-long expansion initiative which has seen the venue more than double in capacity.
Taking over an additional two floors of its Cannon Street base, thestudio began its refurbishment back in September 2013, with the additional spaces created opening to the public earlier this year.
The development also saw existing spaces renovated to create a fresh, colourful environment catering for groups of up to 220 delegates. The newly developed spaces are a contributing factor for a revenue increase of 29% when compared to the previous year’s sales figures.
Julian Kettleborough, commercial director at thestudio, said: “Feedback on the new spaces has been extremely positive and we thought it important to continue the bright and creative theme throughout the venue. This coupled with our ability to host larger groups and our close proximity to New Street and Snow Hill stations puts us in a fantastic position going forward.”
The venue has also appointed a sales and events coordinator on the back of this success. Recent graduate Laura Nash has taken up the position. She said: “I’ve worked in a number of different environments but thestudio has a real buzz about it, which is enhanced by the fantastic team. I’m looking forward to helping the business grow and develop its offering.”
Thestudio Birmingham has been trading since 2006 and caters to more than 60,000 visitors per year. To find out more about the venues in Birmingham or Manchester visit www.studiovenues.co.uk or contact the team on 0121 634 2800.
