Henry Wong Harborne raises £2,000 for local hospice.
Popular Cantonese restaurant Henry Wong in Harborne has raised over £2,000 with a food and wine pairing masterclass held in aid of local charity, Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice.
The ticketed event saw 75 guests enjoy a Laurent Perrier Champagne reception before participating in the food and wine matching session which featured unique Cantonese dishes created by head chef Ricky Wu.
Marianne Ho, general manager at Henry Wong, said: “The evening was a sell-out success and we’re thrilled that so many people joined us to experience our great food and wine offering but more importantly to support Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, which helps countless families across the region.”
The event, co-hosted by BYWine, also saw guests take part in a raffle on behalf of the end of life facility, with top prizes including a magnum of champagne and a set of high end kitchen knives.
Claire Marshall, Commercial Director at Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, said: “We’re extremely grateful to everyone at Henry Wong and BYWine for supporting us with this fantastic event. £2,000 is an incredible amount of money to raise in a single evening and will help us care for patients and families living with a terminal illness both here at the Hospice, and in patients own homes.”
