Monarch checks in with Macmillan

25 years of partnership with cancer support charity.

The Monarch Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support celebrated 25 years of working in partnership yesterday and treated Monarch customers to bubbly and cake at Birmingham Airport. Limited edition luggage tags were also presented to customers and children received fun flags to colour during their flight.

The airport celebrations were just the ticket to say a big thank you to Monarch customers who have helped raise an impressive £4 million during the last 25 years for people affected by cancer.

Monarch is one of Macmillan’s longest standing corporate partners and since the partnership began, donations to the charity have continued to increase. From donating loose change on board to stirring up support for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, the airline’s passengers and staff have been committed to raising funds for the charity throughout the 25 years.

Sally Hill, Partnership Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, says: “25 years of working together is a truly fantastic accomplishment and we want to thank the Monarch customers and Monarch staff who have helped make this partnership so successful. The money you have raised will help ensure that no one faces cancer alone, so thank you.”

Pauline Prow, Chair of the Monarch Foundation said: “We are very proud of our partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support. Cancer touches the lives of so many and we are delighted that we have managed to raise such a significant sum during the last 25 years through the continued generosity of our customers and staff. This £4 million has enabled the charity to provide support to thousands of people across the UK.”
