Birmingham fashion show in aid of cancer charity

Organiser Jaspreet Thiara talks about the upcoming Dare to be Different fashion event, in aid of Breast Cancer Care.

UPDATE:

Since August 2013 I’ve been working on such a positive event. It’s helping me gain experience, it’s providing young people and freelance professionals with an opportunity for developing their skills, building their portfolios, providing exposure for their work and networking and promoting diversity.

Most of all it’s raising such awareness for such a good cause and providing women diagnosed with cancer the opportunity to feel and look confident and fabulous by taking the spotlight. 80% of women affected by breast cancer suffer the trauma of surgery to remove part or all of one or both their breasts, and this often leaves them feeling vulnerable, unfeminine and has a negative effect on their confidence. This has inspired us to help them feel sexy, confident and glamorous again. Every woman deserves to feel beautiful!

We want to support women and men fighting cancer and raise awareness of the unfortunate ordeals they have to go through such as loss of hair, confidence and hope as our motto and belief is that everyone deserves to feel beautiful and make a significant positive difference.

Taking place at the Royale Suite, Birchfield Rd, Perry Barr, on Friday 4th July, the event will feature a full evening of entertainment, starting at 6pm with a pre-show reception including entertainments from Britain’s Got Talent contestants, sweet treats and Estée Lauder beauty demonstrations. This will be followed by a three-course meal, and there will be further entertainmentfrom some of the Midlands’ top live musical and DJ talents.

The main event of the evening will, of course, be a fashion show showcasing some of the top young talent in the region, with the aid of make-up artists including Vienna Showcase Best Artist Award 2013, Souren Mousavi. There will also be a special charity auction and prize draw.

Tickets cost £25, or £29 VIP, which includes reserved seating and a premium catwalk view. Contact: Jas Thiara on 07447403435 or daretobedifferentdtbd@gmail.com to purchase tickets, sponsor a table or for any other enquiries.
