Plug in to Wireless

Tammy Facey on an upcoming weekend in the park.

In a matter of weeks Birmingham will play host to the famous Wireless weekend at Perry Park and become awash with heady festival goers.

It’s all going off at Perry Park, where the big acts are playing. The weekend promises a mix of top R’n’B, hip hop, dance, trap music and dubstep thanks to acts such as Azelia Banks, Kwabs, B.O.B, Wiz Khalifa, Kid Ink (featured on Show Me with Chris Brown), Becky Hill (Oliver Helden’s Overdrive) and Sasha Keable amongst others.

The supporting acts are going to be incredible, but the headline acts are what the streets of Birmingham have been buzzing about. On Friday the rapper-come-smooth singing Drake will be performing. If his lyrics are anything to go by, fans will be itching to get a piece of him. Saturday sees the jazzy Bruno Mars performing his greatest hits thus far to the excitable crowd. Get ready for a lively, yet mellow, fun, but chilled performance from the too cool for school Bruno. Then on Sunday Jesus will walk in the Birmingham arena because the most headline-grabbing artist will bless us with his presence: Kanye West will take to the stage.

Hold on to your hats Birmingham, Wireless is going to be, excuse the colloquialism, epic.

Tickets are still available for the Birmingham festival, but act fast because the London tickets have sold out. www.wirelessfestival.co.uk/
