Draft maps have today been published, outlining which roads are set to be covered by the city’s 20 is Plenty scheme.
Under the proposals, approved by Cabinet earlier this month, the vast majority of roads would eventually be given 20mph limits, including residential roads and those near local shopping centres, as part of the effort to make Birmingham safer for all users of the highway network.
As all plans are in a draft state, local consultation is ongoing with the communities involved, and it is expected that the vast majority of work in the pilot area would be completed, subject to this consultation, by March 2015.
The maps can be accessed by visiting the council’s 20 is Plenty webpage.
And although official consultations have not yet started, any comments are invited by email totransportpolicy@birmingham.gov.uk
