Disruptions while maintenance work carried out.
London Midland will be introducing a temporary timetable next week on its Cross City route, which will affect services between Lichfield Trent Valley and Redditch.
The change is being introduced to allow Network Rail to carry out essential maintenance work at Landor Street junction, just outside of Birmingham New Street.
As a result, CrossCountry services, which would normally travel via Water Orton, are being redirected on to the Cross City line. This means that London Midland must operate a reduced number of services while access to the line is shared between the two train operating companies.
The temporary timetable, which comes into effect on 15th February until 22n d February, will result in a reduced number of London Midland trains running in both north and southbound directions. Passengers are encouraged to check the temporary timetable before travelling at www.londonmidland.com.
Mark Goodall, London Midland’s head of route for Cross City services said, “I apologise to passengers for the temporary disruption they will face while these essential works are carried out.
“Where possible, London Midland will be running an increased number of carriages on services to meet passengers’ needs, and customers travelling to Lichfield City will also have the option of travelling on a direct service with CrossCountry trains, as ticket restrictions will be lifted.
“As the works are being carried out during half term, we do expect to see a reduction in the number of commuters travelling next week, which should help to minimise the impact”.
