Care for a mince pie made by celebrity chefs and raise some cash for a kids’ charity?
Then log on to http://www.themincepieproject.com/donate this Wednesday to find out more.
100 big name cooks are taking part in the donation drive. They are creating mince pies that’ll dazzle your eyes and you can bid for them. They include Michel Roux Jr, Giorgio Locatelli, Raymond Blanc. They’re the ones who win Michelin stars & appear on MasterchefThe money.
The donations go to a charity called Kids Company.
It works with vulnerable and traumatised children in the UK. Experts from the organisation work intensively with 18,000 boys and girls each year providing the nearest thing to a family the children will ever know. They campaign for the rights of children too.
The kitchen maestros include 3 from Birmingham- Andreas Antona & Luke Tipping from Simpsons and Richard Turner from Turners in Harborne.
The chefs will cook 70 mince pies on Wednesday. A box of 35 is auctioned on line and a second box is raffled on Friday. So 100 chefs = 7000 of the best ‘mince’ pies ever.
