Whatever you want to do, join in.
Walsall based community theatre company Cart Before the Horse is seeking more actors, musicians and performers who would like to take part in their upcoming production of The Alchemist and the Devil.
The second play in Walsall Civic Society’s Bayard’s Colts street theatre cycle, penned by local playwright David Calcutt, the show is fast, funny, musical – and a bit rude!
The performance is scheduled for Saturday 17th November, in Walsall High Street near the Old Square entrance off Walsall Market, and a special Gala Performance will also be held indoors at the Performance Hub on the Gorway Campus of Wolverhampton University, Gorway Road, Walsall during the evening of 17th November. From there, the show will be streamed live onto the internet.
Rehearsals are booked in from Sunday 20th October at Bookmark Bloxwich Theatre in Elmore Row, Bloxwich, each Sunday (day) and Wednesday evenings.
Glen Buglass, of Walsall Council’s Creative Development Team said: “No acting experience is necessary and Cart Before the Horse are particularly interested in recruiting women and girls as well as anyone who can play an instrument and sing. Come along and have the time of your life!”
Stuart Williams of Bloxwich Library Forum, which manages Bookmark Bloxwich Theatre in partnership with Bloxwich Library, said: “Bloxwich Library Forum is delighted to welcome Cart Before the Horse as the new resident theatre company at Bookmark Bloxwich Theatre. We wish them every success with this second cycle of historic and hilarious Mummer’s Plays, and with the other productions they are working on.”
