Shopping centre’s tenth birthday marked in an appropriate way.
Chocolatiers at Cadbury World have crafted a special birthday gift to mark Bullring’s 10th birthday, by immortalising the shopping centre in Cadbury Dairy Milk.
Taking three of Cadbury World’s in-house chocolatiers a week to create, the 35 kilo chocolate design of Bullring’s ‘We are So City’ model features key landmarks from around Birmingham made entirely from chocolate, including the Selfridges building, Rotunda, the newly-opened Library and the Custard Factory. Measuring nearly 1m cubed, the design includes over 80 individual chocolate ornaments made using the equivalent of 777 standard Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate bars.
The design will be displayed at Bullring throughout September on the Middle West Mall next to the customer service desk for visitors to view and photograph. Diane Mitchell, marketing manager at Cadbury World, said: “Bullring and Cadbury World are two great Birmingham institutions and our chocolatiers had so much fun creating this special birthday gift. We hope it will go a long way in making Bullring’s 10th birthday a momentous occasion and that visitors enjoy taking in the fantastic sites of our city recreated in chocolate.”
Tim Walley, General Manager at Bullring, added: “We were overjoyed to be approached by Cadbury World to help celebrate our 10th birthday with this incredible model. The We Are So City model plays a huge role in our latest marketing campaign and was created by Wallace and Gromit creators, Aardman.”
The chocolate model will be displayed at Bullring’s Customer Service Desk until 29th September.
