Hospice launches Harborne Fundraising Groups to raise vital funds

Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice has unveiled its latest venture aimed at supporting the services on which so many rely.

Enthusiastic members of the Kings Norton Fundraising group share their excitement about their upcoming events.

People from Harborne are invited to join forces to create an exciting new fundraising group, which offers a chance to work as a team – organising events that will make a big contribution to the Birmingham charity.

Already this year, both Rubery and Kings Norton have witnessed the formation of two new fundraising groups. Pub quizzes, craft stalls and many-a-tombola have meant that both groups have already raised £1,000, with future events currently being planned.

Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice Community Fundraiser Jen Boilestad has been hitting the streets of Harborne to raise awareness of the soon-to-be-launched group.

Jen said: “Many individuals are keen to fundraise but aren’t sure what to do. Fundraising groups are the perfect opportunity to get involved with like-minded people and create ideas together!

“Each year we provide care and support to 1,000 people with terminal illnesses. The services they receive are only possible thanks to money raised in the community, so these new groups are sure to make a big impact.”

People interested in getting involved are invited to their open evening on Mon, 5th August at Harborne Baptist Church, Harborne Park Road, B17 0DH, 6.30pm.

If you’re interested in starting a fundraising group in your area, or would like further details on the information evenings contact the fundraising team on 0121 472 1191.
