Design concepts from Cov students on show in London

Students from Coventry School of Art and Design are taking part in the UK’s most important graduate design exhibition this week.

New Balance Hive – sports footwear designed to prevent ankle sprains in female netball and basketball players with the soles specifically engineered to offer impact protection as well as aiding a controlled landing for optimum stability.

Final year students in Automotive and Transport and Product Design will be displaying their work at New Designers 2013 at the Business Design Centre, London from Thursday 3 to Saturday 6 July.

New Designers is the annual showcase for emerging creative talent from across the UK. Over three thousand students from the country’s leading universities are exhibiting at the show, which attracts the attention of leading industry figures, potential employers and members of the public – all keen on catching a glimpse of the cutting edge concepts on show from the next generation of designers.

Coventry School of Art and Design student projects on public display at New Designers include:

Busy Critterz – electronic pets which encourage children to take up healthy habits and physical activity.

New Designers follows Coventry School of Art and Design’s own Degree Show 2013, in which final year undergraduates in visual arts, design, music, fashion, dance, drama, media production and photography showcased their work to the public at different locations across the city centre campus and at selected venues in London.

New Designers takes place from Wednesday 3 to Saturday 6 July at the Business Design Centre, London N1 0QH.
