Covent Garden heads to Brum

Retail Birmingham will be brightening the streets of the city centre with a month long programme of ‘Street Performance Saturdays’ that will see the best Covent Garden Street Entertainers brought to Birmingham’s key shopping areas this August.

With over 10 years’ experience in the entertainment industry and a reputation for bringing the world’s best street performers together, Covent Garden Entertainment will wow crowds of astonished visitors every Saturday in August from 11:30am – 3:30pm at Bullring (St Martin’s Square), High Street and The Mailbox.

Shoppers making the most of the summer sales should expect the unexpected with 20 Covent Garden Entertainers bringing a twist on traditional street acts, including Escapologist Rob Roy Collins, Robot Rock, Spikey Will Man of Danger, Faces of Disco, Sergeant Major Stilt Walkers, Football Freestylers and Gravity Defying Acrobats.

Steve Hewlett, Retail Birmingham BID Manager, said: “Summer is a key shopping period for retailers and a perfect time to activate the streets to further enhance visitor and shopper experience.
