As forecast, the heat on Monday was followed by brief but heavy thunder storms. These caused localised flooding in parts of Birmingham and the West Midlands.
One area that was hit was Golden Hillock Road, Small Heath, Birmingham.
These pictures were taken yesterday morning by design apprentice Robert Stevens on his way to work at J S Wright in Aston. He said: “I couldn’t see the pavement for water. It felt like I was driving through a river with waves splashing against the car. It was amazing how quickly the weather changed from 30 degrees of sunshine to flash floods.”
