Birmingham Gay Symphony Orchestra to host a weekend of making music, fun & friends

BGSO is the second LGBT orchestra in the UK and they’re inviting orchestral musicians of all backgrounds from across the Midlands and beyond to come and join in for a weekend of making new friends and  music in great setting of mac birmingham.

Players will take part in a weekend of sectional and tutti rehearsals and an informal performance on the Sunday evening.

The Repertoire will include the glorious Enigma Variations by Elgar and the fun & furious piece The Big Country by Jerome Moross. Sectionals will be led by professional musicians and the whole weekend will take place under the musical direction of our accomplished conductor, Jack Lovell. Players will also be invited to join a night out after the first day’s rehearsal.

Players of all standards and from all orchestral sections are invited to apply to join us for this weekend. Professional musicians. Keen amateurs. Those who play every day or those who haven’t had the opportunity to play for some time. Whether based in Birmingham or some distance away. The Midlands’ LGBT-friendly orchestra invites all players – from far and wide – to join in for a weekend’s fun and music-making.

The cost of the weekend, including light buffet lunches but excluding dinner on the Saturday evening, is £40!

Players are encouraged to apply quickly via the BGSO website in order to avoid disappointment.
