Corporate team building is set to hit a sweeter note following the launch of a new initiative at thestudio in Birmingham.
The innovative meeting and event space in Cannon Street has signed up singer and musician Dan Whitehouse to lead a series of group song-writing workshops designed to get employees ‘singing from the same hymn sheet’.
Speaking about thestudio workshops, Dan said: “Writing music together is a great team building exercise and has been proven to increase self-esteem, improve listening and concentration skills and evoke sensitivity towards others. Plus, if all goes well you’ll walk away with a great team anthem to rally the troops when the going gets tough.”
One of several team building activities on offer at thestudio, the Song Writers Workshop asks groups to work together to create a ‘team song’ around topics including newspaper headlines, radio advertisements and even children’s toys.
He continued: “I first became involved with thestudio when one of the directors heard me performing my single, ‘My Heart Doesn’t Age’ on BBC Radio 2. He found out I was from Birmingham, came along to a few of my gigs and invited me to perform at thestudio last October.”
Emma Jennings, director at thestudio added, “We’re really pleased to have Dan on board and I’m sure that the song writing workshops will prove to be extremely successful. He’s incredibly talented and our businesses can definitely benefit from what he has to offer.”
The workshops are priced individually depending on the numbers in your team and length of session. To find out more, visit www.studiovenues.co.uk or contact the events team on 0800 079 0909
