Turkish Airlines is increasing its daily flight programme from seven to ten flights each week from Birmingham Airport to Istanbul and beyond.
Turkish Airlines’ 200th aircraft arrives at Birmingham Airport to celebrate the carrier’s increased flight programme from Birmingham and is welcomed with a water salute.
To celebrate the occasion, the airline specially arranged for its 200th aircraft, a Boeing 737-900, to operate the afternoon Istanbul service. Passengers were also treated to performances by The Orchestra of the Swan, cultural partner of Turkish Airlines.

Selim Ozturk, General Manager for Turkish Airlines at Birmingham, said: “Since starting flights from Birmingham in 2008, we have been very grateful for the demand that is in the Midlands region and I’m very proud of the growth that we have achieved.”
