The Jam House gives Birmingham music fans The Real Thing

British soul group The Real Thing is bringing a night of funk to Birmingham’s legendary live music venue The Jam House in St Paul’s Square on Thursday April 11.

The Liverpool trio, which includes the original main performers  Eddie and Chris Amoo, shot to fame back in the 1970s and remained a firm favourite on the British soul scene for more than two decades. The band received international chart success with ‘You to me are Everything’ which was a hit in both the UK and US.

This was followed with a series of classic dance tracks during the disco boom of the late ’70s, from ‘Can you feel the Force’, ‘Can’t Get By Without You’ and ‘So much love to Give’, which was re-released as a popular dance track in early 2000s.

John Bunce, General Manager of the Jam House said: “After a sellout gig last year which the band very much enjoyed, we are really looking forward to welcoming The Real Thing back to perform on stage.

“Their music was a major influence on the British soul scene during the ’70s and ’80s and still has the power to make the same impact today as it did back then.  They are a home grown hit machine guaranteed to have everyone dancing all night!

Tickets cost £5 or guests have the option of enjoying a menu of innovative international cuisine in The Jam House balcony restaurant which overlooks the stage and dance floor area.

The Jam House is open every Tuesday to Saturday and is renowned for its action packed calendar of live music from many of the UK’s leading bands.
