Open auditions will be held throughout the day in the city centre on Saturday (March 23) as the search to find the new Miss Birmingham continues.
Girls aged between 17 and 24 are invited to turn up to the auditions taking place at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel, New Street, from 10am to 5pm. There is no need to book, those interested can just come along on the day to meet the judges and team behind the Miss Birmingham competition, including reigning Miss Birmingham Kris’ina Jagpal.
Talent scouts from Miss England will also be out in the city centre during the day to let potential entrants know about the auditions.
Those who are successful in the audition stage will be invited to take part in the Miss Birmingham 2013 final, taking place at the Crescent Theatre on May 5, with the winner also qualifying for this year’s Miss England contest. Judges say they will not just be looking for the most beautiful girls, but those with the potential to become an ambassador for the city and inspire others.
Chief Scout Kerry Capoverde said: “We have had a great response for the Miss Birmingham competition already and are confident that the next Miss England could be hiding in the crowds. We’re on a mission to take a look for ourselves and make sure none of the city’s most outstanding ladies have slipped through the net.”
As well as holding the open auditions during the day, the team of talent scouts will also be at Gatecrasher nightclub on Broad Street on Saturday night to keep an eye out for more glamorous girls with the potential to become the next Miss Birmingham.
Contestants for Miss Birmingham must be aged between 17 and 24 and have until Friday, March 29, to enter via the website at www.missbirmingham.co.uk, or they can enter in person at Saturday’s auditions.
