Kali Theatre is presenting Jabine Chaudri’s absorbing and fast moving new play, My Daughter’s Trial, as a site-specific production at the Senate Chamber, University of Birmingham.
As Parveen juggles her professional and personal responsibilities, the action switches back and forth between courtroom battle and domestic turmoil, made even more complicated when her opponent in court turns out to be the love of her life…
In this unique theatrical event, audiences will sit in amongst the actors as they witness the actions of both the defendant and Parveen, and judge for themselves who is really on trial.
Goldy Notay plays Parveen. A TV, stage and film regular, Goldy featured in Sex and The City 2 and played the lead in Gurinder Chada’s It’s a Wonderful Afterlife.
Last year Kali Theatre celebrated twenty one years as the only theatre company in the UK dedicated to championing women writers from a South Asian background.
