Good evening Stockholm – SAS moves to later departure time

Scandinavian Airlines is moving from a mid-afternoon departure to an evening flight from Birmingham airport on the recently launched Birmingham – Stockholm route.

Starting on 27 June, the service will operate every day except Saturday, using a Boeing 737-600.

Hans Dyhrfort, SAS Regional General Manager Western Europe, says: “SAS enhanced schedule will make the route far more convenient for business passengers – as well as leisure passengers. Business passengers will now be able to conduct a full day of work in the UK before flying to Stockholm and vice versa. We are very pleased to be able to adjust our timetable to meet their needs. Plus, the new departure times are also an excellent complement to our Copenhagen route, providing our customers with more choice of flights beyond Scandinavia.”

Martyn Lloyd, Commercial Director for Birmingham Airport, said: “SAS has responded to the requirements of its customers, particularly business travellers who need to depart later in the evening to accommodate a full working day in either Birmingham or Stockholm. I’m confident that this move will be welcomed by customers currently having to fly into airports further away to return home, and we praise the airline for making this change.”

The daily flights to Stockholm will operate every day except Saturday. Weekday flights from Stockholm will depart at 17:30, with a return flight from Birmingham at 19:45. On Sundays, the departure time will be 18:20 from Stockholm and 20:35 from Birmingham.
