Birmingham collective, the Alternative Dubstep Orchestra, celebrate their vinyl debut release at the Hare and Hounds, on Friday 16th November.
Expect sonority, discord, and probably no set list – ADO seem to live and breathe free compositional ingenuity, lending much of their ‘creative space’ to unconventional manipulation of sound. Their music works like poetry (perhaps even a language in itself) with concentrations on shade in light and dark, inflections of tone, patterning of rhythm, counterpoint, repetition, and beautifully skilled arrangement.
There’s a clever subtlety to their work, the kind you really only get with free orchestral collectives, and its exciting to discover a group that actually blends into and ‘becomes’ the music they create as opposed to simply playing it.
ADO will be supported by JOLT ‘the maiden voyage of a radical and peculiar musical endeavour’, Reggae DJ Producer and co creator of ADO ‘General Riddim’, and Birmingham’s African Drumming sensation ‘The Goat Slappers’.
Expect new tracks from the head-liners, reworked classics, a skilled brass section, two drum kits and full visuals from Blendstate’s Liam d’Authreau.
Join the ADO family, returning to their ‘original stomping ground’ the Hare and Hounds, on an incredibly special night of music and celebration.
Friday 16th November, 9.00pm – 2.00am
