Learners and staff from Queen Alexandra College (QAC) rose to the challenge of a ten mile walk yesterday and completed the ‘Walk for Harry’.
Kerenza Palmer, Curriculum Area Manager at QAC, who was responsible for putting ‘Team QAC’ together, stated;
“We had a fantastic response from both staff and learners. We are a very small College – and a charity in our own right – but this was for a cause that we are passionate about and as such we were keen to make a contribution. Those that were not able to walk on the day showed their support financially. The event itself was a wonderful occasion and a great tribute to the memory of Harry Moseley.”
The Walk organised by Free Radio, paid tribute to Harry Moseley – an inspirational young boy from Birmingham who unfortunately lost his own battle with brain cancer earlier this year having worked tirelessly to raise funds for Cancer Research.
Funds raised by those who completed the ‘Walk for Harry’ will be donated to two charities; The Birmingham Children’s Hospital to assist with brain tumour research projects and Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Money for Team QAC is still being received and donations can be made via www.justgiving.com/teams/teamqac
