First Warwick Cookie Party is an ‘enormous success’

The inaugural Warwick Cookie Party has been declared an ‘enormous success’ having attracted a diverse group of attendees and enjoying coverage on BBC Radio Coventry and Warwickshire. In fact, the event proved so popular that there are already plans afoot for a second event and even a Coventry Cookie Party!

The Party took place at Pancho Tapas Bar, Smith Street, Warwick, on 1st March and provided an informal setting for likeminded businesses to meet and create new contacts. With delicious snacks courtesy of Coventry based Two Cousins Bakery, attendees were able to break the ice over a tasty treat and get to know people they might not otherwise have met.

An extra surprise was in store when BBC Radio Coventry and Warwickshire phoned into the Party around lunchtime and featured it live on air to its 85,000 strong listenership.

The successful event came about as a response on Twitter to Bridge PR and Media Services Office Manager Louise Taylor’s home-baked cookies, which she brought into the office to celebrate her birthday. As local former journalist Jack Linstead joked about getting a bite of the cookies himself, a brand new hashtag was born and Warwick Cookie Party was set up, with plans to become a frequent event.

Andrea Daly Dickson of Two Cousins Bakery, who provided cookies for the event said: “Warwick Cookie Party was a really great event. We often stay clear of traditional networking events so to be able to meet businesses in this informal manner was a welcome change. We took 20 bags of cookies to the event and returned with only two so also from a business point of view it was very beneficial.”

Louise Taylor, who was the main organiser behind the Cookie Party said: “This event just goes to show how powerful social media can be in connecting likeminded local businesses and forming new relationships. Through just one simple tweet we have connected a number of local businesses, helped them promote their services and win new customers – an enormous success for everyone involved!”
