Easter fun at Martineau Gardens, Edgbaston

Families looking for outdoor fun over the Easter weekend should head to Martineau Gardens to take part in an Easter Egg Hunt.

Taking place on Saturday 7 April, from 11am until 1pm, the Easter Trail will lead intrepid Egg Hunters around two and a half acres of beautiful, organically maintained gardens.

Gardeners will enjoy the opportunity to stock up on Martineau Gardens produce including Spring herbaceous plants (which are grown on site) and compost. There will be homemade jams and vegetables for sale and refreshments will be served.

The Gardens, though only two miles from Birmingham city centre are a green oasis that is teeming with wildlife. There’s plenty to enjoy, including woodland, glass houses, formal gardens, orchards, vegetable plots, a wildflower meadows and a ‘Shipwreck’ children’s play area.

Caroline Hutton, Director of Martineau Gardens said: “Events like this are a great way to welcome new faces to the Gardens. We want to encourage the people of Birmingham to visit the Gardens to enjoy the landscape, to get close to nature and unwind and have some fun following the Egg Trail.”

The trail costs £1 per child, adults are free.

The Easter Egg Hunt takes place at Martineau Gardens, 27 Priory Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B5 7UG.

Located five minutes from the MAC and opposite the Priory Hospital. There are a few parking spaces available on site or the Gardens are served by buses 1, 45, 47, 61, 63, X62 or X64.
