Police have raided more homes as they continue to investigate last summer’s disturbances.
Detectives arrested another 10 people yesterday (Tuesday) as part of ongoing investigations into the disorder which took place in the West Midlands last year.
The arrests were made at several addresses across Birmingham & the Black Country and were the latest major push in an enquiry which has now seen 770 people arrested and large amounts of stolen property recovered.
Last week West Midlands Police issued a further 30 images of suspects wanted in connection with the disturbances and added them to the force’s online ‘wanted’ gallery. This resulted in many calls to the incident room following the release of the images and coverage in the local press, which are now being followed up by officers.
Acting Detective Inspector Julie Woods said: “As long as there are still
outstanding suspects in relation to the disorder, work will continue behind the scenes to bring them into custody. If you were involved and have not yet been caught, the best thing you can do is hand yourself in; otherwise we will be coming for you.”
Most of the CCTV footage of the disorder, as well as footage submitted by members of the public and the media, has now been viewed by officers. It is believed that the majority of suspects have now been arrested, although a number have not yet been identified.
Images of these offenders will remain on the force website indefinitely. Anyone who recognises any of the outstanding offenders should call detectives on the Operation View team on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Information can also be submitted via email to tellus@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk.
