Horror aficionados from across the across the region are invited to The Public in West Bromwich this Halloween to take part in the ultimate horror movie endurance test!

On Friday 28 October the West Bromwich venue will be hosting a spine-tingling horror lock-in, with a selection of horror films and short animations screened throughout the night in their theatre from 7.45pm to 8am.

The Black Country arts centre have teamed up with a number of regional film societies to hand pick the evening’s entertainment, including Birmingham International Film Society, 7Inch Cinema, The Electric Cinema and Come:unity Arts Black Film Society, as fans of the horror genre will be treated to an all night fright fest.

Films to be shown throughout the night include, American sci-fi horror, The Mist, 1974 cult gem, Zombies of Sugar Hill, Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn, and gruesome British independent, Mum & Dad.  An audience vote will help determine a fifth film screened on the night, with those booking in advance able to select which horror classic concludes the night’s entertainment.

Throughout the evening and into the early hours of the morning, The Public’s sleep deprived guests will be able to tuck into a selection of Halloween themed food and drink including a delicious range of film nibbles and spooky cocktails, with the odd surprise thrown in.

Dead by Dawn: The Halloween Horror Movie Marathon takes place on Friday 28 October from 7.45pm to 8am.  Tickets are £15 or £18.50 with pizza (on advanced bookings only), and are available from www.thepublic.com or by calling 0121 533 7161.  Advanced bookings only until 21 October 2011.
