What’s On at the Robin

Tonight (Monday)  sees the third heat of month two in the Robin/M2 Studios live band of the year competition. Tickets £3.

Wednesday promises to be a special night when Lisa Mills performs at the Robin. Hailing from Mississippi, Lisa is a blues singer in the finest tradition, with a voice that bears comparison to Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin or any of the all-time greats. She’s played all over the world, stormed the Glastonbury festival, worked with Robert Plant and her gigs are always memorable. Yes, I like her. Tickets £10.

On Thursday there’s a charity night with several tribute acts and local comedian Our Trace. Proceeds go to Cancer Research UK. Tickets £7.50.

Michael Schenker

One of the biggest names in heavy metal appears on Friday. The Michael Schenker Group are celebrating their thirtieth anniversary with a line up that features Schenker and his former UFO colleague Pete Way amongst others. Tickets £20.

Saturday sees Kick Up the 80s, a tribute act to the decade of that name, supported by local band of the era, Rouen. Tickets £7.50.

On Sunday afternoon Woody’s bar hosts their regular free acoustic sessions.
