Tuesday 19th April sees the arrival of American guitarist Thom Bresh. Describing himself as “an entertainer who plays the guitar” Thom was born into a musician family and counts amongst his friends and influences such legends as Chet Atkins, Scotty Moore and James Burton. With both Oscar and Grammy nominations to his name, this promises to be an evening of musical versatility and huge entertainment. Tickets £12.50.
On Thursday regular attraction, the Blockheads, return to the Robin. With a new album Staring Down The Barrel getting rave reviews, they’re now more than just Ian Dury’s band, although all the old classics will still be played as well as ever. Tickets £17.50.
We don’t usually plug tribute bands, but on Saturday the Robin plays host to what’s often reckoned to be the best of the lot, the Counterfeit Stones. Tickets £12.50.
On Sunday Woody’s bar is the venue for the regular acoustic showcase with free admission, and in the evening Wilcox are performing, with support from local acts Amity and the Band of Locals. Tickets £6.
