Leamington Assembly this week

Blackfield

Blackfield

Wednesday 6th April sees a potentially interesting show in the form of Blackfield, the side project of singers Steve Wilson from Porcupine Tree and Israeli pop/folkster Aviv Geffen. Whereas Porcupine Tree are firmly in the progressive camp, with leanings towards ambient and krautrock, Blackfield are more pop-orientated. Tickets £20.

Friday night has Leamington-based Chevy performing thirty years after they split. Back then they were called NWOBHM, now it would probably be described as classic rock. Last year they got back together for a one-off charity gig so this may or may not be the last time they perform. Tickets £12.50.

Saxon

And if that’s not enough eighties metal, Saturday sees the Assembly playing host to Saxon. Possibly the most unfashionable band in the world, Saxon know their audience and the audience knows what they’ll be getting. Tickets £17.50
