It’s out with the old and in with the new for the Birmingham-based warehousing and national distribution firm, which has boosted its 20-strong fleet with the addition of three brand new tractor units.
The tractor units were all supplied by Allports Group, headquartered in Fradley Park, Lichfield, which has had a 20-year relationship with Neely’s.
Allports Managing Director, Mark Sanders said: “We’ve had a strong business relationship with Neely for 20 years and we are delighted that we’ve been able to provide three new Renault tractor units for them.”
Neely Transport, which is based in 30,000sqft premises, was established in 1993, and provides specialist pallet distribution, together with a full range of storage, shipping and national distribution services.
The firm bought its new vehicles outright, benefiting from a three-year manufacturer’s warranty, driver training and a three-year service package, through Allports’ Optiserve agreement.
Clive Neely, Managing Director of Neely Transport said: “The new tractor units form a key part of our expanding fleet and they will enable us to continue delivering the highest standards of service for national distribution,”
He went on to explain that the firm had adopted the new policy for several reasons. Not only will they meet demand for the firm’s increased levels of business, but also, when compared to the company’s older vehicles, the new tractor units use over 10 per cent less fuel.
The key deciding factor however, was that the complete package offered by Allports actually added up to an overall reduction in the firm’s operating costs, when compared with buying used vehicles.
