Live in Leamington

On Thursday 31st March the Beat will be at the Assembly. Since getting back together in 2004 they’ve proved to be more than just ska revivalists, they’re one of the best live bands you can see, regardless of labels, and they also have some top quality new material they’re previewing on their current tour.

Support comes from Pauline Black, formerly with the Selector, and you can guarantee that while you’re listening to her set you’ll be saying “I’d forgotten how good that one was” more than once. Tickets are £16.

On Sunday 3rd April Eliza Doolittle hits the stage. From the Lily Allen school of infuriatingly catchy pop songs, her 2010 eponymous debut album was a platinum-seller and at the same time she got to number five in the singles charts with Pack Up, for which she was awarded a gold disc.  Whether she can repeat this success in 2011 is another matter entirely but she’s sold this one out, so call the Assembly for any returns.
