Director Danny Boyle (127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting) recreates this ‘Gothic Masterpiece’ with Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller who will be alternating the leading roles. For this encore screening (which will be a recorded version of the live broadcast) National Theatre has announced that Cumberbatch will be taking on the creature, whilst Miller stars as Victor Frankenstein, the creator.

Frankenstein ultimately has to deal with the reprecussions of playing God as he brings back to life a dead body, resulting in a child like, yet grotesque creature who is cast out by Frankenstein and rejected by the world he has been forced upon. Full of vengance and longing for acceptance, the creature tracks down his creator to make him an offer he may not be able to refuse…

National Theatre Live performances are filmed live in high definition and broadcast via satellite to over 300 cinemas around the world.

Wolverhampton’s Light House will join over 75 venues in the UK alongside venues in the USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Scandinavia and Europe. The season ends in May with Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard. The encore showing of Frankenstein will be on Friday 18 March at 4.15pm at Light House, Wolverhampton. Tickets cost £12 full/£11 conc.
