It’s official.

Adrian Goldberg has been confirmed as the presenter set to take over from Ed Doolan on BBC WM.

Sydney born Ed Doolan took his first step into broadcasting with Radio Deutsche Welle, the German World Service, in 1970. He began his current consumer programme on BBC WM in 1988. There have been over 5000 programmes over the past 18 years and the programme continues to be one of the most listened-to in the region.

Doolan told Radio Today in February that he wanted to reduce his hours later this year.

Adrian Goldberg – who has had extensive experience as a journalist, broadcaster and film maker – will take over in September. Over the last couple of years he has shown remarkable stamina working the graveyard shift on Talksport in London while, at the same time, editing a Birmingham based website – The Stirrer.

There was some friendly rivalry over who would win the job between Goldberg and former Birmingham Mail Editor Steve Dyson.
