Regeneration concern feeds families in need

Council contractor donates food hampers for Christmas.

Vulnerable families in Birmingham will enjoy a festive feast this Christmas thanks to food donations from a kind-hearted contractor.

Community regeneration specialist Keepmoat and its partners have donated food hampers to Oasis Short Heath Academy who have collected them for families who have hit hard times during this festive period.

Shy Zaidi-Bere, Community Liaison Manager at Keepmoat, said: “As we’re all getting ready for the holidays, we need to remember those who are vulnerable and struggling to cope with life’s most unfortunate challenges.

“By donating these hampers, we’re hoping to spread a little Christmas magic and let the families know that we are thinking about them during these difficult times.”

Pam Atwal, Hub Lead at Oasis Short Heath Academy said: “We were truly overwhelmed with the generosity of the staff at Keepmoat. I cannot express in words our gratitude to everyone that donated. All of us at Oasis know how this will make Christmas special for some of our families that need an extra helping hand.”

Keepmoat is currently working on behalf of Birmingham City Council to deliver responsive repairs and maintenance, as well as refurbishment works, to over 8,800 of the council housing stock in the north of the city.
