Deborah Fox, Senior Curator with Museums Worcestershire said: “We’ve been delighted by the response to the exhibition, it has been amazing and is proving incredibly popular! We want to bring the history to life for our family audiences this summer and so we hope the drop-in workshops will be an opportunity for children to understand more about the famous ocean liner with craft and creative activities which they can take away with them!

“To make sure everyone has the opportunity to visit the exhibition we’ve created a booking system for the mornings with the afternoons remaining as drop-in sessions so hopefully there is a timing to suit everyone. We look forward to a summer of fun at the museum.”

From her conception to her premature demise, Titanic has become the most famous ocean liner in the world. In Titanic: Honour & Glory see a fascinating collection of rare Titanic and White Star Line artefacts in addition to magnificent props and costumes from the 1997 James Cameron film, Titanic. Discover the story of Titanic through real artefacts and personal stories, from Worcestershire, experience the grandeur of transatlantic travel and step back into the gilded age as you view awe-inspiring examples of the ship’s luxurious interior fittings.

The exhibition will be supported by an extensive range of themed events including a series of talks, an ‘n Board the Titanic Trail available every day along with hands-on activities like sending a telegram and recreating the famous shot of Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio on the deck of the ship in a specially designed selfie station.

For those visitors who wish to avoid crowds and queueing Museums Worcestershire are taking bookings throughout the school holidays for morning visits here. There’s a £2 booking fee per ticket; under 5s go free but they still need to be booked a place.

Afternoons from 12.30pm onwards are still drop-in. Booking is for the whole site (except the shop), not just for Titanic.

The exhibition is free and runs until 11th September. More information can be found here.
