Make a silver lining this Christmas

Donate your (cancelled) party budget to LoveBrum.

Birmingham-based charity LoveBrum is calling on the city’s businesses to donate money that was earmarked for COVID-cancelled office Christmas parties to its #OneBrum appeal.

LoveBrum has become a featured charity in the #XmasPartyHeroes campaign, which aims to divert money earmarked for Christmas celebrations, and donate it instead to worthwhile causes.

To become a Xmas Party Hero:

Pledge an amount to the #OneBrum campaign
Notify both LoveBrum and the Xmas Party Heroes campaign of the pledge amount
Pay LoveBrum directly via JustGiving
Share the news of becoming Xmas Party Heroes on your social channels
Tag both @LoveBrum and #xmaspartyheroes – making sure to share the amount.

The #OneBrum appeal, which has already raised over £30,000 since its launch in April, has temporarily replaced LoveBrum’s regular monthly rounds of funding, targeting a number of local causes delivering specific COVID-19 related initiatives, as well as helping LoveBrum to continue its own work.

Andy Whelan, Fundraising Trustee at LoveBrum, commented: “It’s a sad fact of life in 2020 that many events have had to be cancelled – and the beloved work Christmas party is one of them. This is a great way to put that money to good use – now, more than ever, LoveBrum and the causes we’re supporting need your help.”

#OneBrum funds are already being distributed to local charities and community projects across Birmingham. Donations have helped to deliver care packages to those most vulnerable still sleeping on the streets; provide advice, support and food parcels to those most affected by the pandemic; and support children, young people and families who have been affected by loss, bereavement, divorce or separation.
